Heat Engineer Software Limited, a leading developer of innovative software tools for the heating industry including calculation & design tools, has partnered with Grundfos, one of the world’s largest pump manufacturers, to simplify and accelerate the process of hydronic balancing of heating systems across Germany.

This strategic collaboration is designed to help installers and homeowners access the German government subsidies which are available for heating system improvements. A key component of these subsidies is a verified heat loss calculation, which determines the precise energy needs of a building; a service provided through the Heat Engineer Software platform.

By integrating this capability within the new 'Grundfos GO Balance' mobile app which enables accurate hydronic balancing of radiator systems, Heating Engineers will be able to deliver faster, more precise, and fully compliant heating systems - reducing both administrative burden and on site time.

“We are incredibly excited to collaborate with Grundfos on this important initiative. Together, we’re making it easier for German installers to deliver high-quality, energy-efficient heating systems while helping homeowners take advantage of valuable government incentives. This partnership represents a shared commitment to sustainability and smarter heating technology.”

— Ben Duckworth, CEO of Heat Engineer Software Limited.

“Our goal is to empower installers with tools that save time and ensure system optimisation. Partnering with Heat Engineer Software allows us to combine best-in- class heat loss software with our intelligent balancing solutions. This synergy supports both energy efficiency and comfort for homeowners while helping Germany achieve its ambitious carbon reduction targets.”

— Ole Bech-Lisberg, Senior Business Development Manager at Grundfos.

Germany’s heating market is undergoing rapid transformation, driven by government initiatives aimed at reducing carbon emissions and increasing the use of renewable energy. However, many installers face challenges in navigating the complex documentation and data requirements for subsidy applications.

The Heat Engineer–Grundfos partnership directly addresses this by providing a streamlined, digital workflow - from performing detailed heat loss calculations to achieving precise system balancing. Installers using the combined solution will not only save time but also improve accuracy and compliance, ultimately ensuring homeowners benefit from efficient, sustainable heating systems.

This collaboration reflects both companies’ long-term commitment to supporting the heating industry’s transition toward cleaner, more efficient low temperature heating systems. Heat Engineer Software continues to expand its global presence, with plans to integrate further language support and regional standards, while Grundfos continues to innovate within smart pumping and digital tools for installers.

By combining expertise in software innovation and hydronic system optimisation, Heat Engineer Software and Grundfos are setting a new standard for professional heating design and installation, one that prioritises efficiency, compliance, and sustainability.
