Associations & accreditations

Part of the industry, not just software for it

Heat Engineer Software works alongside recognised industry organisations and develops its software around established standards used across heating and plumbing.

From professional memberships to technical calculation standards and cyber security, these relationships help us build software businesses can rely on.

Working with the industry

  • CIPHE

    CIPHE

Chartered Institute of Plumbing and Heating Engineering

Heat Engineer Software is a member of CIPHE, supporting its focus on professional standards, technical competence and continued development across the plumbing and heating industry.

Technical standards

Built around the standards engineers already work with

The Forge doesn’t use its own version of heating design. Its calculations and workflows are built around established industry guidance and standards.

  • CIBSE

    Domestic Heating Design Guide

Heat-loss calculations are informed by recognised CIBSE guidance used across UK heating design.

  • BS EN 12831

    Heat-load calculations

The Forge supports room-by-room heat-loss calculations based around the methodology set out in BS EN 12831.

  • MCS

    MIS 3005 & MIS 3004

Relevant calculations and design workflows support the methodologies used within MCS standards for heat-pump and biomass installations.

  • DIN / EN 12831

    European calculation standards

For projects outside the UK, Heat Engineer Software can also work with relevant DIN and EN methodologies, including national design-temperature data where applicable.

Standards matter because the work does

Heating and plumbing businesses make decisions every day that affect comfort, efficiency, cost and compliance.

Our job is to give them software built on sound technical foundations, while continuing to work with the organisations helping shape the industry.
